As the City of Langley grows some of the older pipes are becoming undersized and inadequate.
Through one of the busy intersections was a line that was replaced by pipebursting.
512m of 15" pipe was upsized to 16".
45m of 18" pipe was upsized to 20".

2 pumps were used to handle the flow of the bypass. Back flow valves.

Entrance pit
This empty lot was used as a staging area the HDPE Pipe.
The bypass line was laid through a temporary trench through driveways and covered with steel plates to cause the least inconvenience.
The winch is set-up inside a manhole.
The entrance pit was quite long as it was used for 2 directions of bursting.

The head is "threaded" through the Trench shoring cages.
The manhole seen in the bottom of the images was "windowed" to allow for the pipe to pass through it at a easy angle for entry into the host pipe.
