P.W. Trenchless uses state of the art pipe-bursters licensed by Advantica Technologies (formerly British Gas)
We currently use three sizes of tools with the 4", 8" and 14" tools and their adapters, this allows us to burst from 4" up to 20". We also have access to larger equipment when needed
We also use a static system for smaller bursts. Using Hydraulics and a heavy cable it can reach 25 tons of force that can split most service connections with ease. Used on shorter runs and service connection it's ease of use and quick set-up makes it invaluable for a project such as West Van
The 4"-6" tool is run off of a 175CFM compressor and is easily handled by 1 or 2 men.
This 4"-6" tool is larger and designed for longer runs, such as water mains, etc. It is heavier than the smaller tool and a machine is used for moving it into place.
P.W. Trenchless has specially adapted a hydraulic winch commonly found on crane trucks, for use with the 4" tool. Attached to the boom of a John Deere 310 Backhoe, this allows us maximum versatility for pull-back.
The larger burster is designed for 8" but with a variety of adapters can burst up to 14".
We also have a "Schnoze" adapter for the front of the tool which allows for better alignment
when upsizing the burst. This tool is powered by a 375 CFM compressor and 3" airhose.
This is the largest tool in the P.W. toolbox and is capable of installing "20 pipe. This tool's power is supplied by a air compressor the size of a small travel trailer and in the right ground conditions, took 2 hours to burst 120m. This tool uses the same winch as the 8" tool.
The "Grundowinch" is a specialized 10 ton winch for pipebursting. Made by TT Industries, it allows for smooth pulling of from 1 ton up to 10 ton at a slow steady speed. There is enough cable in the winch for very long bursts.
This compressor rounds out PW Trenchless Construction Ltd.'s line of equipment and makes us self sufficient.
The actual action of pipebursting is a blending of technologies that have come together with amazing results. HDPE pipe allows the strength and flexibility for successful pipebursting without the weight and cost of welding steel pipe.
P.W. Trenchless uses a McElroy 6-18 pipe fusion machine. This reliable equipment allows us to quickly and easily fuse 6" up to 18" pipe on site.
